Civil Service Motorsports Association Classic Festival, Brands Hatch, 23rd May 2004

Unlike previous years when we had attended both days of the CSMA Brands Hatch event this year we only attended on the Sunday. Although we had less of a Club "Presence" in that we did not have a regalia stand, we still had the best attendance for some years.

I myself did not think to count the number of cars but I was told afterward that at one point in the day there were over 90 cars so we still had the largest amount of cars of any of the Clubs in the display area. I was also surprised at the BMW Z3 that parked in the group of MX-5s. Was he one of our members or just aspiring to be one? I later noticed that someone had written "MX-5" in the dust on the back of the bootlid!

The "Historic" racing was as good as always and as the last two years an RX-3 was in the lead of one race right till the last lap. Perhaps he will have better luck last year? The weather was great (unlike last years torrential rain) and with many of us bringing picnics we were able to watch the racing in comfort from the South Bank.

Thanks again for your support of the event.
